About
The two halves nobody puts together.
Your receipts live in your inbox. Your charges live at your bank. Neither side can see the other, which is why a refund can be promised and never paid and nothing anywhere notices. Saftr is an iPhone app that reads both — read-only, through each provider's own consent screen — and tells you when they disagree.
That disagreement is usually money: a refund that stalled, a return window about to shut, a subscription that raised its price, a charge with no receipt behind it. Saftr's job is to find it and hand you what you need to claim it. It can't file the return or move the money, and it never says it can.
- Both halves or nothing
- Receipts alone make a library. Charges alone make a statement. Only together can they show you what’s missing — that comparison is the entire product.
- Read-only by design
- Saftr can never send an email, change a message or move money. The permissions it asks for on Google's and Microsoft's consent screens are the smallest ones that do the job.
- No false agency
- Saftr has no merchant integrations, so no button pretends to act for you. It opens the merchant's own returns page and hands you the evidence; the claim is yours to make.
- No data business
- Your purchase history is not a product. There are no ad partners, no data brokers, and no plans to add any.
Common questions
- Which accounts can I connect?
- Gmail and Microsoft — the Microsoft connection covers Outlook, Hotmail, Live and Microsoft 365 in one. Both are read-only and granted on the provider’s own consent screen. Card and bank connections run through a regulated aggregator and are optional, though matching only works once a card is connected.
- Is there an iCloud Mail option?
- No, and not soon. Apple offers no OAuth for Mail, so connecting it would mean asking for an app-specific password — a credential that grants far more than read access. That breaks the read-only promise the rest of the app is built on, so we won’t ship it.
- Do I have to connect my bank?
- You can use Saftr on email alone and still get your purchases and return windows. But a missing refund, a duplicate charge or a subscription price rise are only visible when the charge is there to compare against the receipt — that’s the part that gets money back.
- Can Saftr return something for me?
- No. It has read-only email access and no merchant integrations. It tells you a window is closing, opens the merchant’s own returns page, and gives you the order number and the merchant’s own wording to use.
- What will it cost?
- Free for up to 25 tracked purchases at a time. The paid plan removes the cap and keeps the full match history.
- When is it out?
- It is in the last stretch of development and lands on the App Store this year. The Contact page is the fastest way to hear when.
